Shameful!

Are you all aware that one of the victims of the Ft. Hood...um....massacre was pregnant? I would like to acknowledge Judy from benmakesten for pointing this out to me! As a self proclaimed "news junkie", I'm ashamed that I wasn't aware of this. I've done some simple research and here's what I found out:

The pregnant victim, 21 year old Francheska Velez, was scheduled to go on maternity leave just two short weeks after this massacre occurred. She was an army private who had just returned from Iraq. I also read that she recently reenlisted. Strangely enough, she had said that she wanted to become a Psychologist to help other soldiers deal with the stress of deployment....just like her murderer!

Clearly, there were 14 victims that day at Ft. Hood...not just 13! Will our society EVER acknowledge that unborn children are living, breathing human beings that deserve our protection? I suppose that if we can't even say openly that this killer is a "terrorist" and subscribed to a radical ideology that puts American lives in danger.....how can we possibly acknowledge that a life is a life, is a life, is a life....even if it's unborn.

Family Movie Night

We try to have a family movie night on Fridays. It doesn't always work out that way though. Either Dan is working or there is some family/church function that we need to attend. However, today the girls behaved really well at the pediatrician's office (they both have bronchitis!!) and so, we wanted to reward them for a really good day!!

Since we hadn't been to the video store, I scoped out what was "On Demand".....and we ended up watching Horton Hears a Who! I have to say, this was a really good movie! I know that we're a little late in watching it as it came out sometime last year, but, it was great!

I'm sure that all of the political "talking heads" and "pundits", pro-lifer's and pro-choicer's have all had a great time picking it apart....but I must say that it had a GREAT message:

"A person is a person, no matter how small"

Hmmm....even Dr. Seuss got it! When will the rest of the knuckleheads?

If you have not had the chance to see this movie....please rent it! You will not be disappointed! Dan and I were in hysterics several times....I mean really belly-laughing! This was just what I needed to shake me out of my funk!

Friday Favorites!

I'm so sorry I forgot to post my "Friday Favorites" last week. I must say that since I've been visiting Facebook recently, it uses up much of my computer time that I allow myself . Anyway, not to worry....it's here this week (albeit a little late)!

Priests for Life is another "must visit"! Excellent pro-life news source. You can find the conversion story of the "Roe" in Roe v. Wade. Fr. Pavone is very involved in the PRO-LIFE movement and has a connection to Terri Schiavo.

I wish that somehow, the world knew the truth about what abortion really is. As a society, we have no problem watching sex on tv. We have no problem watching homosexuality on tv....we have no problem watching people get hacked up with a saw or buried alive in some of these horror movies. How come these so called "pro-choice" people won't watch an abortion on tv? Why won't the networks show an actual abortion on one of their "reality" shows? I mean, we've seen surgery of EVERY kind, we've watched addicts detox, we've watched drug and alcohol "interventions". Why no abortions?

Well, I'll tell you why....because then, they'd have to face what they've always denied...the TRUTH! The truth is that it is murder! They would be faced with the fact that abortion is REAL...that these really are BABIES and not a clump of cells. They would be faced with the fact that it is WRONG. They would be horrified! Oh how God must feel every time one of His souls returns to Him this way! Oh how He must grieve! We should all be grieving...every last one of us!

Let us NEVER tire of fighting for these babies....for these beautiful souls that cannot fight for themselves. Let us NEVER stop fighting for hearts and minds to be changed.
