Question for soccer moms!!!!

OK...here's a question for all the veteran soccer moms out there....

How do you wash soccer socks that have the shin guards sewn into them????

Would it work if I just washed them on a gentle cycle in cold water and not put them in the dryer or do I have to wash them by hand (please God, no!)?????
