Saturday in St. Augustine

Today, the kids and I made a quick trip down to St. Augustine to visit the Mission of Nombre de Dios and the Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Often, we take a picnic lunch and just sit and enjoy the scenery. It rained yesterday so it was too damp for a picnic...instead we just took a leisurely walk and chased some squirrels. I was also able to find a statue of St. Nicholas in the Shrine Gift Shop....I've been looking for just the right one and I finally found it!!! Here are some picture of our day...

What beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing. We used to visit St Augustine when we'd go to Daytona, etc. when I was a young girl. Just a beautiful place with such rich history to boot.

Oh! Thank you for posting these photos! I'll probably write too much now!

The Mission in St. Augustine is the site of much of the Lord's work and conversion in my life. Before my conversion I bought there, 30+ years ago, and still use, my first Rosary. And, again, same time period, I found there and still treasure my small books published by the Confraternity of the Precious Blood, including My Imitation of Christ. And there, much later and after my conversion, visiting the area again, is where I finally found my St. Teresa of Avila medal. Not commonly available where I'm at. I have many memories of the Jax, St. Aug. and O.P. areas primarily, and your photos brought me a welcome touch of home and state of mind.

Again, thank you! And God bless you.
