Am I the only one?

Do any of your children start asking for breakfast the exact millisecond their feet hit the floor in the morning the way my children do? Is this as annoying to anyone else the way it is to me?

You are not alone. My goddaughter spent the night, so I decided to make pancakes for breakfast-takes a bit longer than the usual and all I've been hearing is "Mom, I am soooooooo hungry!" So am I-I'll maybe get to eat in an hour when they are finished...

Yes! And now that they are older (7 and 8) I tell them you know where the cereal and milk is!

Nope, you're not the only one :) ! In the case of one child - it happens beFORE her feet hit the floor! Is this annoying? It can be, but wrongly so, I'm afraid. ('Ouch' for me, too...) It's a testament to their enthusiasm and appetite for life and starting it up each day asap, not to mention the call of the belly. None of it unreasonable. In your case it's probably also a testament to your culinary skills :) ! Expect it, be ready for it, allow it and enjoy it. Enjoy THEM.

My daughter's exact words to me/us are, "Good moaning Momma. Good Moaning Daddy!" I'm hungry will you get me some haybails please?" (We call Frosted Mini Wheats, Hay Bails cuz that's what they look like.) Yeah, you're not alone! I can't even think coffee yet and she's starving! LOL

Aspiring,

Ah..you and I are definitely on the same "wavelength" here. Almost as soon as I pressed "post", I knew in the pit of my being that this too is my pride showing. It's always "all about me". While I would really like to actually drink a cup of coffee that was hot for once .....coffee drinking is not my vocation in life. My first responsibility is the care and love of my children with a servant's heart! Thank you for reminding me...and for calling me on it.

Therese, SAHMinIL and Frizzy....I'm just thankful that I'm not alone! Oh, and I love "good moaning"!!! That cracked me up!

Yes. This is why they get their own breakfast. :)

My daughter doesn't even give me a chance to put on my glasses so that I can see the cereal!

Christopher is just like Aspirings child. He calls out from his bed I'm hungry and wants to know whats for breakfast. Yesterday I was chatting online when they woke up and he was at me to get off computer and get his breakfast. I kept saying just a minute which he didn't appreciate.
