I had no idea that this little book would be the hit that it has become in this house! You can read about the series here and here! Nathan has already finished Book One! We will be making a special trip to the bookstore tomorrow to purchase Book Two! The good news for me.....this book has no teeny-weeny parts that I step on in the middle of the night....there is no adding water....and you need no tools to put it together!

He's the author of the Percy Jackson series (for ages 12 and up, IMHO), which are EXCELLENT. I only say 12 and up since there are mentions of the boys and girls liking each other - that relationship tension (nothing inappropriate, but too early for under 12, really). But, we are excited a film is coming out!
Do not know anything about the book, but I agree, books are amazing gifts. They can keep a child engrossed for hours and are far better for them than TV or video games.
