Hi! This isn't a comment about your post per se, so you don't need to publish it. I just wanted to invite you to "Kids say the darndest things Friday" blog hop at:
And to top it all off, she said that "Today is the Feast of St Joseph The Worker..." WRONG! It was the Feast of St Joseph, but the Feast of St Joseph The Worker is May 1.
The violence of excommunication was not unlike the violence in the act of divorce. When the structure of the family is threatened, when someone is jerked from the fabric of family., There is a chill down the spine. It is human condemnation.
Did you ever notice how most priests realize that there are both Republicans and Democrats in a congregation? Or that unity was the goal of both politics and religion. I don't think I ever could vote for Nancy, but I would leave issues of excommunication for someone else to decide. It seemed to much like the Final Judgment. Didn't Judas mix up his political dreams for Israel with whatever his view of religion was?
MJ...Nancy has made a mockery of her faith. She has said (with her actions) that she doesn't care what the Church teaches and she has no intention of following the rules anyway. She doesn't deserve the title of Catholic. From the same mouth that she touts "Choice" (as in the right to murder the unborn), she takes Our Lord Jesus, Body-Blood-Soul & Divinity, into it. While I'm not perfect...I don't want the laws of the Church changed just because I can't seem to abide by them. There are consequences to our actions. It cracks me up when people bring the whole "we should not judge others" into political discussions. We don't judge the person, we judge the action....however, when the action is grievace (sp???), it's a little hard to separate the two. We don't get to cherry pick the teachings of the Church that make us uncomfortable. I have NO problem with her beliefs....I just think it is TERRIBLY WRONG for her to have those beliefs and still call herself Catholic. Bottom line, she should be excommunicated....she has willingly separated herself from the Church's teachings...publicly and has possibly lead others astray. Scripture says she will be judged more harshly. Sorry, but the "let's just all get a long" has run it's course. It's time to get tough...souls are at stake.
