... WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM EST TUESDAY...
THE COMBINATION OF NORTHWEST WINDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH AND TEMPERATURES DROPPING INTO THE 20S TONIGHT WILL CREATE A PROLONGED PERIOD OF WIND CHILLS BELOW 25 DEGREES... WITH LOWEST WIND CHILL VALUES OF 15 TO 20 DEGREES TUESDAY MORNING.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS... MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.
(I think it's funny that they have to actually explain to Floridians what a wind chill advisory means! LOL!)
*****To tell you the truth....I'm not sure anyone in Florida actually owns a hat or gloves! It's supposed to be back up to about 68 degrees by the weekend....so I'm enjoying this winter weather while I can!! I apologize to all of my friends up north or in the mid west who are currently buried in all the white stuff! Just let me know and I'll trade places with you for a few weeks!!!******

Your post made me smile, since we're going to be having wind chills at -15 F tonight. My cousin was in Florida duing a cold snap last year and said that he and his friends were swimming in the outdoor pool while Floridians were being cautioned not to go outside if they didn't have to. :) Enjoy your winter weather!
I see they have N.H. in the freezing area, but guess what? It was 50 degrees when I woke up this morning and not too bad even now :) Thanks for sending some Floridian weather our way but we REALLY need snow! We haven't even had any yet!
Ahahaha it always makes me laugh when down south gets cold or a dusting of snow. We have -30 wind chill at night right now.
I love my snow though, I could never live down south. But the -30 I could do without.
I am in S. Florida, but I certainly do not need to know what a wind chill is. Hee hee..... Thank you for sharing and I am bundling up. I could ice skate on the pool today even. ;)
