Dinner conversation....

Me:  As soon as I'm done clearing the table I'm going to start a bath for you girls, Ok?

Amelia:  A bath?  Why can't I have a shower?

Me:  Well, I guess because you always have a bath.

Amelia:  But mom, when I take a bath all I do is sit in my own wet dirt!

Me:  True enough!

Good thing she doesn't live on the Frontier where she would have had to sit in her own wet dirt...plus the wet dirt of anyone who was bathed before her...and I've read that DAD got to bathe first...can you IMAGINE?!?!?!?!?!? Babies were last...hence the saying, "Don't throw the baby out with the bath water".

Precisely why I have always showered. I never understood those who love to linger in the water of a tub . . . I "get" hot tubs, but I am not in them long . . . something about sitting in other folks sloughed off bits. ;)
