There is no particular reason for my lack of blogging lately.  I think it's a combination of a couple of things.  For one thing, I've been concentrating on my eating habits a lot.  Weight Watchers and I have a date every week!  I've been journaling like a crazy woman, trying to keep track of every morsel I put into my mouth!  I just wish I could lose it as fast as I can gain it!

Secondly, we've been getting ready for the kids to start school!  Nathan went for a 4 hour orientation on Wednesday and the girls stayed home.  Today, the girls had their orientation and Nathan stayed home!  Tomorrow, everybody goes for the entire day!  I have been filling out and signing forms, writing checks (sigh), putting special dates on the calendar, registering for soccer (the girls only), reading notes from the principal, the PE coach, the music teacher...and the computer teacher as well as signing up for the mandatory 15 volunteer hours each family has to do!  It's been a whirlwind.  I'm hoping that once the first full week starts, things will calm down.

Amelia told me she had to stand in the corner today!  THIS WAS HER FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!  She was there for F.O.U.R. hours!  How can it be that my daughter would have to stand in the corner on the first day of school...for talking, no less!!  Sigh...this is going to be a long year!

Today, after we visited their classrooms and left them in the very capable hands of their teachers....I cried.  I cried because my kids won't be with me this year.  I cried because I had to throw away the Catholic Heritage Curricula catalogue.  I cried because we won't be homeschooling anymore.  I cried because their teachers will get to see more of them than I do.  I cried for all of it.  Boy, did it feel good to cry!  Apparently, I had been holding in a lot!

Hopefully, I won't be licking my wounds for much longer.

I just found your site. After 16 years of homeschooling, I am putting my 5 remaining children at home into Catholic school. Very scary for me.

All will be well. I know your heart hurts right now, sweetie, but they will do great!

What a huge step this is for all of you. Sending you hugs til your heart mends and grieves this time away.

I want you to know Yaya has been in the principal's office more times than I can count in PRESCHOOL no less due to talking. I would love to believe it will all change this year in kindergarten. I guess only time will tell. Either way, I feel your pain. I would have died if my name had been put on the board let alone if I'd had to stand in the corner or go to the principal's office but NOT MY STRONG WILLED CHILD. YIKES!

Hi Nancy,

It's good to be back. Your site is like 'home' in many ways. Maybe you know what I mean. I sent you an email, too.

I join you in prayer for your family's new school year. I can tell you that when my youngest graduated I didn't miss the whirlwinds of those days. At all. I still haven't :) !

And I join you in prayer of thanks for your exam results.

I read your recent posts to catch up some. And I was so cheered to come across the one on July 23. Meeting you and Dan, Nancy, and seeing you with my eyes and visiting and sharing a REAL hug was WONDERFUL for me, too. The only problem was our time was too short. Same time same place next year :) ?

Greetings to your family. God bless you now and always, I pray in Jesus' Name.

<3 , KathY
