Saintly Stalling

Sunday night is the hardest one of the week for our family. It takes a lot of patience and fortitude to get through it. This was a particularly busy weekend for us and I think everyone was exhausted. We barely made it through dinner, baths and story time. For quite a few years now, story time has been Dan's thing. It usually gives me a chance to finish up the dishes and get ready for bed myself. He turns off all the lights and reads them a story with the flashlight. Both of the girls are usually asleep before he finishes. Apparently...not tonight.

One by one, each of them tiptoed out of bed to ask for various things....water...potty and both girls needed yet another hug from mom. I know this is all done because they know that if they stop moving even for one minute...they'll fall asleep and this is (of course) what they are trying to avoid. Finally, I was done. I warned all three of them that if they got out of their beds again, they would have NO T.V. for a week! I meant it!

Apparently, Nathan has moved stalling from going to bed to the next level! About 10 minutes later....here he comes again...only this time, armed with a rosary.

"Mom, can you please say a decade of the rosary with me....I think I want to pray". Now, how can I possibly scold him for wanting to pray...especially the rosary? Smart isn't he?

**Incidentally, I gave in and said a decade with him! I don't want to spend any more time in purgatory than I actually have to***
