It's funny to me how fast things can get out of control when you don't say on top of it! The girls have had bronchitis for the last week or so...they are on the mend but sick kids can sure make a mess! Nathan woke up yesterday morning throwing up...but he was fine by last night. I guess it was one of those 12 hour things. Anyway....it was one of those "lay around" weekends and so there are blankets, buckets, books, various toys and coloring books laying all around the living room. Sigh....well, I better get started instead of writing about it!

Don't overdo! Do half of what you think you can.
That was pretty bossy wasn't it? I was using my "I mean it" tone! ;o)
Barbara....How about if I do half of what I feel like doing (which is basically...nothing!!!). That should be just about right. I was very ambitious when I posted that....the energy has now been sucked right out of me. I think I'll take a nap!
What a wonderful conversation! Actually, Barbara, that is wonderful advice! I love your comment, Nancy! I have been catching up with your posts and left a comment on your Friday post as well. I hope you are feeling better. Take it easy! I have been trying to remember myself that I can only do the best that I can... God does not expect any more than that. And if anyone else expects more than that, that's just too bad! I get myself into a funk if I push myself too hard.
Well, on a positive note, the fact that you are even thinking of doing so much means you must be on the mend! Praise God!
If I may make a suggestion... make a list of a couple things you want to get done each day and leave it on the kitchen table each morning. If you keep the lists doable, you'll be surprised at the progress! Try to organize a few projects that you can do while sitting down... have the kids bring bags of clothes to you and they can try them on right there in the living room where you can supervise from the recliner ;)
Hope this helps a bit. I'll keep you in prayer!
DON'T OVERDO!!!!!
and.. I love the new look on your blog.. and... Happy St.Patrick's Day!
Very good help from very good friends...
One other thought, Nancy, is to ACCEPT rather than FIGHT the presumed mess. Really LOOK at it and BE OK with it. 5mile. It IS ok. Cry, with relief, to know that it is indeed ok. Then, and only then, concentrate on what's needed for meals, baths and clothing. Crucially, take this valuable time off to heal (in every way), not sabotage it. You need to become fit for the rest of your work when the time comes. With concern and affection...
Don't forget to go slowly...you need rest my friend!
Nancy,
I too have a chronic illness. I am in a season where my mine wants to do way more than my body can do. Hang in there. I know how you feel. Some days I feel I go 1 step forward and 2 steps backwards.
Hugs,
Elizabeth
